Our extra virgin olive oil “Principe” received the gold medal at the 12th edition of the OLIVE JAPAN International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition 2023.
The competition is organized by the “Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan(OSAJ)”, Japan’s only professional organization for training and certification of olive oil experts, which is independent of any olive and oil trade body. ‘olive oil.
The competition organization received 702 oil samples sent by producing companies from 24 different countries. Each sample was tasted, tasted and evaluated by a careful jury who then awarded prizes including gold and silver medals and special recognitions for some categories.
This is the opinion on our Principe Oil: “Eucalyptus and cinnamon minty aroma with dark green tea sensations. Loverly elegant sweetness with pungency balanced with good bitterness.”
Olive oil is not traditionally part of Japanese cuisine, but it has gained popularity in recent years due to its health benefits and growing interest in international cuisine. In Japan, olive oil from Italy and other origins is used in various ways in cooking, both in traditional dishes and in more modern creations. It is used for example for:
Cooking and stewing
Final addition on raw and cooked dishes
Condiments for traditional dishes
We are happy for the Gold Medal at the “Olive Japan” Contest 2023. But above all we are happy for having made a little of our refinement known also to the country of the rising sun.
